“Metty” came to the U.S. in 2003 to contest the Supercross Lites East class as well as Outdoors on a Red Bull KTM. Fast forward to 2010 and his jump to the 450 class in the Outdoor Nationals. Kicking off his first season in the premier class with a bang, he finished 2nd in points behind Ryan Dungey. Rockstar Makita Suzuki quickly snatched him up and he’s had another great season in 2011. This past weekend at Washougal he landed on the podium with a 3rd overall and sits 4th in the championship points.

Bostrom was out at Laguna this weekend doing double duty racing in the Superbike class and racing as a Wildcard entry in the MotoGP event. His MotoGP race did not go as planned as he ran off the track in turn one and retired from the field in last place. AMA Superbike went much better for Ben as he finished in 5th place on his Michael Jordan Motorsports Suzuki and is only a couple points away from moving into 5th overall in the Superbike Series, he currently in 6th place. Ben holds championship titles in AMA Superbike, AMA Supersport and an X Games Gold Medal in Supermoto.

Chris Fillmore contributed to KTM history when he piloted the KTM RC8R to two top-ten finishes in the first ever AMA Superbike races for both Fillmore and the RC8R. At Mid-Ohio Fillmore rode an RC8R to a 7th place finish on Saturday and 9th place finish on Sunday to give him 21st overall in the class with only two race results. On Saturday he almost passed veteran superbike racer Larry Pegram for 6th place at the finish line. Fillmore is currently leading the Vance & Hines XR1200 class. He finished the season last year in 10th overall in the Daytona Sportbike class and in 2009 he was 17th in the series. Fillmore is also a two-time AMA Pro Supermoto Champion

Kris Turner’s weekend at Mid-Ohio started out good with a 8th place qualifying position but unfortunately a mechanical issue on Saturday and crash on Sunday kept him from making it into the top ten. He finished in 23rd on Saturday and 20th on Sunday in the DSB class. Turner is a privateer racer on a tight budget racing only select AMA Road Race events for the 2011 season. His best finishes this year were a pair of 7th place finishes at Barber Motorsports Park.

Jake won six titles as an amateur before turning pro in 2005 when he was 18 years old. He has become a top SX/MX rider through hard work and determination. In 2010 he was the West Coast Lites Champion and won the East/West Shootout in Vegas. Jake currently is riding for Monster Energy Kawasaki and is tenth in points at the Outdoor Nationals in his first year on the 450.

the Outdoor season with the fastest lap times in the first practice at Hangtown. Unfortunately he suffered a terrible crash in the second practice that forced him to sit out a few rounds. He returned at Highpoint and has had some solid finishes since. He’s currently ninth in points due to the fact he missed some rounds. Last week at Red Bud he finished fifth in a very hard fought race with high heat and humidity. The series takes a week off and then resumes at Spring Creek in Millville, Minnesota.

A couple weeks ago the GNCC series was at the Snowshoe Resort in West Virginia where Stu rode a very impressive race for third overall. He is the first rider in motocross history to win his pro debut. He was the 2009 AMA Sportsman of the Year and 2009 FIM JR World Motocross Champion. His best finish was a second place at Miller Motorsports followed but a third place at Road America. He has won over 30 national titles in the United States Dirttrack and Roadrace Series. He is the youngest American to compete in a Motogp race at Indy. In 2009 he did a full year in the Spanish Championship with team Aspar, ending the year with a podium finish.

Despite a mechanical issue at Round 1 and a health issue at Round 2, Russell has shown that it won’t be long before he is fighting for the top spot on the podium in the XC1 class.

After spending a difficult 2010 season with the privateer Pedercini Kawasaki World Superbike team, the 2007 AMA Pro Supersport Champion (who’s also impressed in MotoGP wildcard appearances) returned to the AMA Pro paddock to join forces with the Jordan Motorsports crew. For 2011, he’s competing in National Guard SuperBike aboard the National Guard Jordan Suzuki #54 machine. This past weekend at Road America he secured another 5th place finish on Sunday and 6th on Saturday. His last four races indicate that he is getting very comfortable on the National Guard Suzuki. Rog is currently in 7th overall in the series.

Fillmore has been on the podium in each of the 2011 XR1200 races so far in 2011. This past weekend at Road America he finished in first overall even after running wide on one of the turns during the race. He finished the season last year in 10th overall in the Daytona Sportbike class and in 2009 he was 17th in the series. Fillmore is also a two-time AMA Pro Supermoto Champion

This year in the Monster Energy Supercross West Lites class Tyla finished seventh in points. Then they had a week off to prepare for the grueling Outdoor Series. At the opening round of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Motocross Championships Rattray went 5-2 for third overall, a solid start. This past weekend at the Freestone County Raceway, in Wortham Texas he went 2-1 for the overall win. He’s sitting second in points, (just five points behind), from his teammate Dean Wilson.

Josh is currently leading the 2011 GNCC XC1 class. He is in a tight battle with factory KTM rider Charlie Mullins. This past weekend after two rainouts the series continued at the Rock Run GNCC in Patton, Pennsylvania with Strang scoring a second place finish. Strang is the reigning champion and working to keep his number one plate.

Benny is coming off another good weekend, although not as strong as his Infineon Raceway results. This past weekend Solis scored the fastest qualifying in the Supersport class beating the next fastest racer by four seconds. In the race he unfortunately crashed twice but was in the lead before his first crash. At the Infineon Raceway round, he also scored the fastest qualifying time and won both Supersport races in only his second professional event. He is currently in 2nd overall in the Supersport West Series. In 2010 he raced for Graves Motorsports. He was a Red Bull Rookies Cup Championship winner. His sponsors include Roadracingworld, Honda and Erion Racing.

In the what most consider to be the “best Supercross season ever” Millsaps finished 8th in points, just in front of his teammate Justin Brayton. His team, JGRMX, is a North Carolina based program that has ties with NASCAR and is owned by Joe Gibbs. Davi has a ton of talent and many believe he hasn’t seen his full potential yet, although his resume is quite impressive already. At the opening round of the Outdoor series in Sacramento at the Hangtown Classic, he scored 4th and 7th for 6th overall.

This is Ricky’s first time to commit to a full season in the Outdoor Motocross Championships. In 2009 he was a top offroad rider in the WORCS series racing for Monster Kawasaki. When a spot opened up on the Monster Kawasaki 450 motocross team he tried his hand at the Outdoors and surprised a lot of people. He scored several great finishes including a fifth overall at the Texas round in Freestone. Now he is contesting the whole Outdoor series and he finished an impressive ninth overall at the opening round at Hangtown last week. The series is heading to Texas where he scored his best finish in ‘09.

Alonzo Bodden – Motorcyclist, Comedian, Actor
Alonzo is an American comedian and actor known for winning the grand prize in the third season of the reality-television series Last Comic Standing. He had been the runner-up in the previous season. In 2005, he released his DVD Tall, Dark and Funny. He was a talent judge in NBC’s 5th season of Last Comic Standing, along with Kathleen Madigan and ANT. He has appeared on a number of 101 Cars You Must Drive, America’s Worst Driver, Late Night with Bodden owns four motorcycles: a Triumph Rocket III, a Triumph Speed Triple, a Ducati 1098, and a Ducati Multistrada, and formerly owned a Honda CB400F. In 2010, Bodden high-sided his Ducati 1098 while racing at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. The crash shattered his scaphoid, requiring surgeries and a bone graft to fix. Paul Jamiol – Motorcycle Cartoonist and Illustrator
Paul Jamiol, an avid motorcyclist, has been cartooning and illustrating for the past 40 plus years. He has been recognized for his work locally, nationally and internationally. His cartoons and illustrations have been featured in various motorcycle magazines and mainstream newspapers. He produced the Classic Motorcycle Calendar© (a collection of his pencil drawings of classic motorcycles) and has illustrated a children’s book on motorcycling, Patrick Wants to Ride. He created a 30-ft mural, Women in Motorcycling, for the opening of the American Motorcyclist Association Heritage Museum in Westerville, OH. In addition, Paul’s award-winning editorial cartoons have been seen and appreciated worldwide. BIKERS are ANIMALS is a book for children who love animals and might have an interest in motorcycles. With this book, Paul’s intention is to spark something in young readers that will get them excited about motorcycles. He also hopes to shake, early on, the adult refrain that “bikers are animals.”
