Ken Roczen, 250SX West Champion – KTM Redbull
Roczen opened the Outdoor season with two wins and the overall. A few weeks ago it was a weekend of firsts for the newly crowned 250SX West Champion. It was the first time KTM won a 250SX Title and the first time Roczen won the 250SX Championship, and he won the Davey Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout for the first time too. After a mishap in the closing rounds of the 250SX Series, the Championship came down to the final round and Roczen delivered a 2nd place finish which is what he needed to take the title.

Dane Westby, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike – Geico Honda
Westby opened the 2013 season with a nasty crash during practice for the Daytona 200 that injured his spleen. His activity has been seriously restricted for the past 8 weeks but he was recently cleared to race in the upcoming Road America event May 31 through June 2. Westby was the runner up in the 2012 Daytona SportBike Championship and finished inside the top ten in 18 out of his 19 starts. His next best overall in the Daytona SportBike class was in 2010.

Henry Wiles, AMA Pro Flat Track – Lloyd Brothers Motorsports, Ramspar
Wiles is currently 3rd overall in the AMA Pro GNC Flat Track results as he heads into the Springfield Mile event this weekend at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. It is early in the season but Wiles is 4th in the Expert Twins and 3rd in Expert Singles. He finished out 2012 in 6th overall in the combined results with his 10th in the Expert Twins and 3rd in Expert Singles. Henry turned expert in 2002 and currently holds 20 national wins along with two singles national championships.

Tyler Bowers, Arenacross Champion – Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki
Bowers is a three-time Arenacross Champion and his season couldn’t have gone much better. Even with a broken collarbone mid-season he managed to win a majority of the Arenacross races and pull off his third consecutive title. After the season was over he got a call from Mitch Payton to fill in on the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki squad where he won the final round in Las Vegas, Nevada. He’s still under contract with Babbitt’s and plans to return to Arenacross next season.

As a founding member of Asterisk, many newcomers to motocross recognize his name for being a leader on the business side of motocross. Brian travels to the factory on average twice a year to stay up on new technology and Arai philosophy. After the first two AMA Pro SuperBike races in Daytona, Roger finds himself in 12th overall with an 18th and 4th place finish in the two races. In 2012 he wrapped up the season in a very respectable 3rd overall with 8 podiums and a lone victory at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Roger was the 2007 AMA SuperSport Champion and won the 1998 AMA Horizon Award for Dirt Track.

In 2012 he finished 11th overall in the combined standings, his best finish was 2nd at Indy. In 2008 he was the Grand National Pro Expert Twins Champion.

“Brownie” continues to amaze his fans, some of which have followed his career for more than two decades. In 1993 he retired from racing only to return and win the AMA 125 Pro Motocross Championship in 2001. He now races offroad full time and this past week at the opening round of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series in Las Vegas, he led every lap in his heat race and the main event. He is 41 years old.

At the final round of the Monster Energy Supercross series in Las Vegas this past Saturday, Jake pulled the holeshot in the heat and the main event and had some very solid rides. He finished 4th in the main event. This was a tough season for Jake as he had to deal with being sick and then broken some ribs. His outstanding ride in Vegas is sure to motivate him for the Outdoors season that starts on May 18. Jake is a former West Lites Champion (250SX).

He will be racing and training with teammates Elena Myers and Kenny Riedmann. The team is based in Alabama. DiSalvo starts off the 2013 season in 28th place after some problems in the Daytona 200 race. In 2012 he finished 5th overall, scoring 12 top ten finishes and a win at Infineon Raceway. Factory FMF/KTM rider Kurt Caselli won the fourth round of the AMA National Hare & Hound Series held in the desert of Lucerne Valley to capture his second win of the 2013 season. Caselli got a great jump off the start line and was sitting in second position as the riders ended the bomb run. After taking the lead, Caselli never looked back and went on to take the overall win by five minutes over the second place finisher. Caselli has a number of championships to his credit; 2012, 2011 Hare & Hound Champion; 2011, 2010, 2007 WORCS Champion and 2007 AMA Sportsman of the Year.

In July of 2010, Hill sustained an injury while preparing for X Games 16 that would have ended most racer’s career. Since then he has had an incredible comeback story and his results are continuously improving. This past Saturday in Seattle he finished 12th after going down in the first turn. He sits 15th in points which is impressive considering he missed some racing at the beginning of the season.

After a fairly serious crash in the 2012 Isle of Man TT, Brandon is set to go back for 2013 to compete again in this world famous motorcycle race. Cretu started racing motorcycles back in 2006, but his motorcycle racing plans were derailed in 2007 when he broke his neck in a car crash. While healing Cretu came up with the idea and dream to race the Isle of Man event. His first Isle of Man TT race was in 2010. A Ride on the Edge is a short film about motorcycle road racing that Stacy has been working on for a couple years. Gillim came away from Daytona’s opening rounds with a 3rd and 11th after wrecking his A bike before the races got going. In 2012 he competed in the AMA Pro SuperSport East division and recorded two victories at Miller Motorsports Park and NOLA Motorsports Park. Had a monster year that consisted of him obtaining 19 tops 10s and 12 top 5s finishing 2nd in the standings. He also raced GNC Pro Singles and finished in the top 5 in his only two starts of the season. Gillim was the 2010 AMA Sports Horizon Award winner, raced in Red Bull AMA US Rookies Cup and MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Steve Rapp, Daytona 200- GEICO Motorcycle Road Racing
Since turning pro in 1996, Rapp has won races, on several different sizes of bikes, including the Daytona 200. Last year Steve finished 9th in the AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Points on the Attack Performance ZX-10R and also raced in an AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR 1200 class. This year he didn’t secure a ride but when Dane Wesby crashed at the Daytona 200 Thursday practice, Steve landed a last minute ride for that weekend. Having been a 200 winner in the past and landing a podium in the Superbike class the previous year he was an obvious choice, Rapp delivered with a solid 6th place finish.

Berto Wooldridge, President – AFM American Federation of Motorcyclists
Berto Wooldridge has been racing since an early teenager, switching from Jetskis Championships to road racing in 2002 and starting his first year with the AFM. He¹s raced consecutively for 10 years with the AFM, raced 4 seasons of AMA Supersport and Formula Extreme, won multiple class championships in the 600 cc classes and is a multiple top 10 number plate holder, of which is awarded based on championship points. In 2012, Berto was elected as the President of the AFM after serving 6 years consecutively on the board of directors. He is the only President in recollection to have won a class championship, races, and top 10 plate in one season while the active AFM President. Currently, he and the AFM board are working to better the AFM in the road racing world.

Jessica Patterson, Womens Motocross Champion – NFAB TiLUBE Yamaha/Rockstar
This year after the announcement of the shortened Women’s Pro Motocross series. JP set her sights on the GNCC as well. She came out swinging at the opening round with a big win in Florida and in Georgia she finished 3rd, and in North Carolina 3rd again. This weekend she will be racing in South Carolina and sits 3rd in points, just 2 behind the leader. Jessica plans to race a total of 10 GNCC rounds. She also will contest the Women’s Pro Motocross Triple Crown, Womens Motocross X-Games, and EnduroX Womens Class at X-Games (both in L.A.)

Charlie Mullins, GNCC XC1 Racer – FMF KTM Team
Mullins is having a great start to the 2013 Off Road season. He is currently leading the GNCC Series and the National Enduro Series. In the first three rounds of the GNCC Series he scored two wins and one second. The first four rounds of the National Enduro Series have been dominated by Mullins with three wins, the most recent at the Cajun National Enduro. Mullins was the 2011 GNCC Champion and finished 5th last year in the GNCC series.

This is the 5th year for the Carey Hart owned team and Kenny has been a part of it every step of the way. They’ve partnered up with Ricky Carmichael and steadily ramped up their program including factory support from Suzuki. This year they have Broc Tickle and Josh Hill contesting the 450 Supercross class and Broc acting as their solo rider in the Outdoors. Tickle sits in a respectable 10th place in points while Hill is in 15th, despite sitting out several races due to an early season injury.

Young, a two-time AMA SuperBike Championship runner-up has been testing on the Attack Performance CRT bike to prepare for racing the three U.S. MotoGP rounds. The 25-year-old Young from Wisconsin, who was AMA Superbike runner-up in 2011 and 2012, has significant experience riding the American circuits, although like others he will have to learn the COTA track from scratch, as well as get used to the Bridgestone tires and carbon brakes.

Stewart, a former top 10 racer in AMA Pro Supermoto, now owns USA Pro Supermoto. The six-round series is set to kick off in Primm, Nevada on April 25 – 28. The next five rounds are set to take place in Shawano, Wisconsin, Denver, Colorado; Sturgis, South Dakota; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and finishes up at Keystone Heights, Florida. Eslick started off the 2013 season with a new team and a new bike. His finishes at Daytona were a very respectable 4th and 5th after two days of racing with his new Michael Jordan team. This is only the second year for Eslick in the SuperBike class. His first year he rode for Erik Buell Racing securing three podium finishes, with a season best 2nd place at Miami Homestead and 8th overall. Eslick is a two-time AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Champion having won in 2009 and 2011.

She would have finished higher in the standing except for an odd situation where an intern unknowingly grabbed a tire after bring Paris something to drink during the race. Regardless, Paris is positioned to well going into the season and should be able to move up from where she is now.
