For years now Danny has been running the extremely popular and successful American Supercamp. He is now adding a new school called Road Race Factory and an AMA Road Race Team to his list of projects. Racing for his team in the Daytona Sportbike class will be J.D. Beach and Jake Gagne and in the Supersport class it will be Hayden Gillim and Tomas Puerta. The team is testing and should be serious contenders in their first season together.

Travis Wyman, AMA Supersport/XR 1200 Racer – Harv’s Harley-Davidson
Travis started riding motorcycles at the age of 5. He competed in the many levels of AMA Dirt Track Racing before making the switch to road racing. His first year of AMA Pro Road Racing in 2008 was spent competing in the AMA Pro Red Bull U.S. Rookie’s Cup. Travis raced the XR1200 class and the Supersport class in 2011. At Road America he picked up three podiums when he placed 2nd and 1st in the Supersport class and 3rd in the XR1200 class. For 2012 the team has revamped their program to be even more competitive.

Nancy Sabater, Founder -The Moto Patriot
Nancy’s been a motorcycle enthusiast for about 20 years. Her fiancé raced professional motocross and she was a big part of his career as well. When the Lead Ban was introduced she was inspired to get involved from an email she received from the AMA. She didn’t feel the motorcycle industry was doing enough so she helped get signatures for the petition to overturn the Lead Ban. She reached out to families she knew and other communities to get active. She also started the Moto Patriot group that educated the public on how to make a difference. Thanks to the help of Nancy and several others, the Lead Ban has now been overturned.

Brett Metcalfe, 450cc Supercross – Yoshimura Suzuki
In 2010 Brett finished 3rd in the Monster Energy Supercross Lites East series and 2nd in the 450cc AMA Motocross Outdoor Series. In 2011 he finished 4th in both the AMA 450cc Supercross and the 450cc Outdoor Series. This year he is the sole rider on the Yoshimura Suzuki team riding the proven Suzuki RM-Z 450. He’s currently 9th in points however he’s very close in points to several riders in front of him and could easily advance several positions in the next few weeks.

Ami Houde, Motocross Racer – Canadian Womens Nationals and FIM World Championships
Ami is 22 years old and grew up racing motocross events all across North America. Her father, Kim Houde, was the 1979 Canadian National Pro Champion and most recently the Over 40 and Over 50 Vet World Championship. Ami has competed in the Canadian Womens Nationals with her best finish 3rd at Calgary. She was also the first Canadian to be invited to race the FIM World Championships. This year she’s working on a new project called Ami and Jamie’s Motocross Adventures where they will film their experience racing and life in the motocross industry.

Jason DiSalvo started off the 2011 season by winning the Daytona 200 despite blowing up a motor. He finished the year in 4th place after winning the first three rounds. For 2012 DiSalvo will be contesting the Daytona class once again but this year he will be on a Triumph. He has been busy in the offseason preparing for 2012 and making enhancements to his riding school the Jason DiSalvo Speed Academy. He will be launching the new site for his school today.

Brian Stokes, Pro Motocross and Road Racer
Stokes has been racing for 25 years – ten years in motocross and fifteen years road racing. He turned pro in motocross in 1991 and raced until 1994. He turned pro in road racing in 1999 and retired in 2011. He is currently co-owner of Jason Disalvo Speed Academy and AMA Crew chief for Garrett Gerloff. In his road racing career, he earned 32 national championships in WERA, CCS, ASRA and AMA sports. He was the 2003 AMA Horizon award winner, 2003 600 Suzuki Cup champion and member of the 2004 Suzuki World Cup team.

Paul Jamiol, Author – Bikers are Animals
Paul Jamiol, an avid motorcyclist, has been cartooning and illustrating for the past 40-plus years. He has been recognized for his work locally, nationally and internationally. His cartoons and illustrations have been featured in various motorcycle magazines and mainstream newspapers. Bikers are Animals uses a menagerie of cartoon animals in motorcycle dress and riding “cool” motorcycles, to show children and parents alike that motorcycle riding is fun and that motorcyclists are intelligent, appealing, hardworking, independent and family-oriented individuals. He just released his third book in the series.

Jake Weimer, 450 Supercross – Monster Energy Kawasaki
As a member of the Pro Circuit team in 2010, Jake won the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Lites West title after placing 2nd in 2009. He signed with Monster Energy Kawasaki for 2011 but his season was abbreviated due to an injury. Now he’s in his second year with the factory Kawasaki team and is off to a great start for this season in the 450 class. At the opening round in Anaheim he finished fifth, second in Phoenix, and was towards the front in Los Angeles until another rider put him on the ground, eventually finishing eleventh. He’s currently tied for fourth place in the points.

Steven Mages, Arenacross Racer – Foremost Insurance Spinechillers Gateway Cycles
Mages won the AX Lites East main event this past weekend in Dayton, Ohio and placed 11th in the AX main event. He is currently 4th overall in the AX Lites East points and 21st in the AX class points. A local Ohio racer, Mages has had a successful career as a local pro. He joined the Foremost Insurance Spinechillers Team this year mid-season and is coming along quickly improving his results every weekend.

Danny has a number of championships to his name including the 2011 Daytona Sportbike, 2009 Daytona Sportbike and 2010 XR1200 championships. In 2010 he narrowly missed winning the DSB championship at the final event of the season. Now he is moving up to the Superbike class which will certainly add to the excitement for that class. After riding for the Geico team he will be moving to a new team and a new bike, although it is not totally unfamiliar territory since he won his 2009 championship aboard a Buell motorcycle.

Trey posted some amazing results given that he only recently broke his collarbone which forced him to miss the first round of the SX Series. He qualified in 9th and finished in 7th place in his heat race and the main event. He is currently in 14th overall. Once Trey gets back up to speed he will be competing with the front runners. Canard has won an Outdoor Lites Championship (2010) and a Supercross Lites East Championship (2008).

During the off-season here in the U.S. he competed in the Australasian SX series where he finished on a high note with two 3rd place finishes. Now he’s back racing in the U.S. where he took 18th in the main event this past Saturday at Round 1 of the Monster Energy Supercross in Anaheim, California.

In the team’s press release it said Shorty will be riding factory support bikes and with the direction of accomplished team manager Larry Brooks and the experience of seven-time Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath, Andrew should have all the tools to race at his full potential.

This is Martin’s third year in the Supercross Lites series and he’s back again with the Eleven 10 Mods team. He seemed to get stronger as the Outdoor season went on and even scored a podium finish at Southwick.

Schwantz recently announced that participants in his school can now use their own bikes when they attend his schools in 2012. He also announced that he will be returning to Road Atlanta as he starts his 12th year of the Schwantz School. The calendar starts April 16 – 17 at Road Atlanta. He will also be holding a school at Indy Motor Speedway on August 20 – 21 and if the facility is finished he will be wrapping up the schools at the newly built Circuit of the Americas.

Halbert turned Pro in 2004 and won the AMA Pro Sport Hot-Shoe National Championship. In 2006, he won the AMA Ricky Graham Rookie of the year award. In 2007 he rode for team Memphis Shades/Yamaha and won his first Grand National race in his home state at the Castle Rock, Washington TT. In 2008 he started his own racing team and finished 5th place in the GNC Twins Championship and in 2009 he won the overall Grand National Championship. For 2011 he finished first in the GNC Expert Singles class with three wins and third in the Expert Twins class with one win. His combined results put him in third overall in the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance GNC Championship.

A 21-year-old native of York, South Carolina, Smith is a three-time amateur champion at Loretta Lynn’s and will now be racing on the Öhlins gold and running number 46, under the leadership of Team Öhlins USA manger, Grant Langston.
