Josh Strang, GNCC Racer – FMF Makita Suzuki Team Josh Strang is off to a solid start to the 2010 season after grabbing his second victory in the Can-Am Grand National Cross County Series this weekend at the Maxxis General Round in Washington, Georgia. Maria Forsberg, GNCC Racer – KTM Team Maria Forsberg won the first round of the Can-Am Grand National Championship in the Womens Class. Dean Wilson, East Coast Lites, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki As a member of Kawasaki’s Team Green amateur program Wilson claimed 13 amateur championships in 2009 and earned the prestigious AMA Horizon Award. In his first year as a pro he is on the team considered by many to be the best and has opted to compete in the East Coast Lites Championship. Michael Byrne, 450 Supercross, Muscle Milk/ Toyota/ JGRMX Byrner, a three time Australian National Champion, came into this season without a ride. He started out racing the California rounds on a borrowed KX 450. When JGRMX’s Josh Grant got hurt Byrne was quickly added to their roster. Byrne has more than 10 years of experience as a professional racer and has been a solid performer for the team this season. Trey Canard, Supercross West Coast Lites, GEICO Powersports Honda Last weekend at Indianapolis Trey lined up for his first ever 450 Supercross race to fill in for the injured Red Bull Honda Racing’s Andrew Short. He showed impressive speed qualifying 8th in timed practice. He had some mishaps and didn’t finish the race but proved he has the speed and skill set to run in the 450 class full time when he is finished with the 250 class. John Hopkins, Superbike Racer – Team M4 Monster Energy Suzuki John Hopkins is back in the U.S. and will be competing on an M4 Suzuki for the 2010 season. After testing recently at Fontana Hopkins stated that he was happy to be back with M4 and feeling healthy again. Hopkins raced with M4 earlier in his career. He won an AMA 750 Championship in 2000 and an AMA Formula Xtreme Championship in 2001. JD Beach, AMA Supersport – Rockwall Yamaha This year JD Beach will be racing with Rockwall Yamaha on a R6 in AMA Supersport and will also ride his 2007 Honda CRF450 in the AMA Pro Singles. Coming off a pretty good year in 2009, JD is looking forward to this upcoming season. In 2009, JD was able to get on the Rockwall team mid-season and scored four top fives and three podiums, with his best finish of second. He finished second in the AMA East Coast SuperSport Championship. When he was not road racing, he was riding dirt track on his Honda 450 in the first year of the AMA Pro Singles Championship. He ran seven races getting three wins (Peoria TT, Springfield TT, and Indy Mile). Zach Ames, Arenacross Racer, Spine Chillers Storm Lake Honda Ames has raced Arenacross for six years now. He finally scored his first win in the Arenacross class last weekend at the Youngstown, Ohio round in front of his hometown crowd. This year he’s on a CRF 450 and says he likes the new format. Right now he’s sitting 6th in points but he’s only 6 points behind the defending champion Jeff Gibson (Gibson is in 5th). Nathan Woods, Factory Husaberg Rider Nathan just finished the first round of the WORCS series on a FX 450 Husaberg. This was his first race on the the “Berg” and he is very pleased with the bike. Dan Brown, Owner, Trials Training Center Trials Training Center was founded in 1997 and five years later Dan bought the program. Located in Sequatchie, Tennessee, they are considered the Motorcycle Trials hub of North America. Ricky Carmichael, The Goat, Ricky Carmichael University RC is the Greatest Of All Time (G.O.A.T.) with 15 AMA National Championships and numerous records that will probably never be broken. He has stayed involved in motocross and Supercross since his retirement in 2007. Mad Mike Jones, Freestyle Motocross Champion Mad Mike Jones, an American freestyle motocross competitor, with over 35 years of professional riding experience. He started his motorcycle racing career in 1972, and is often considered “one of the founding fathers of the sport of freestyle motocross”.
