Kevin was just out at the Laguna Seca MotoGP and AMA combined round in Monterey, California. His motorcycle school is possibly one of the best known road riding schools in the country. The school is based at Barber Motorsports Park where after students’ are done riding they can take in one of the finest motorcycle collections in the country. Kevin takes students through the steps of becoming safer and stronger riders on the street and the track. For the second year he will be hosting a school at the prestigious Indy MotoGP event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Kris Turner, Daytona Sportbike Racer – Turner’s Cycle
Kris Turner is a SEMRA GP85 winner and Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup racer. Kris was one of only 16 Americans selected for the very prestigious Red Bull race series. Turner raced 600’s for the M4 Suzuki team and won one WERA National title and two WERA Regional titles. He is now racing in the AMA Pro Series in the Daytona Sportbike class. He is currently in 17th place overall after racing only select races on the circuit. Josh manages one of the top racetracks in the country. Recently named one of the top six road courses in America by Car & Driver Magazine, VIR is possibly one of the most scenic tracks on the AMA Superbike circuit. The superbike event at VIR was formerly known as the Big Kahuna but this year the track took over promotion of the event and changed the name to the White Lightning Superbike Nationals – Faster Than The Law Allows to celebrate the southern history associated with racing. The event has tons of entertainment planned for their race August 13 – 15 in addition to the amazing bike racing where fans can see everything from superbikes to Harley XR1200’s and electric motorcycles.

Tyla (Ratters) Rattray, Pro Motocross Lites Racer – Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki
Hailing from South Africa, Tyla was the 2008 MX2 World Champion. Now living in America, Rattray is showing he has what it takes to run at the front in the Lucas Oil Outdoor Lites Championship. This past weekend at Washougal he finished 4th in moto 1 and 3rd in moto 2 for a 3rd overall. After Round 8 of the series, Rattray sits in 3rd place overall, with four races to go. From the looks of things we are only just beginning to see what the Ratters is capable of doing with his dogged determination and his spirit of a true fighter.

Doug Henry is one of the true hero’s in American motorcycling. No matter what sport he applies himself to his approach is always the same – give it all you got and never quit. That is why he has so many victories and successes to his name. Most recently he won the Bronze medal at the 2010 Winter X Games in Snocross. Also to his credit is the re-ignition of the four-stroke revolution in motocross, three pro motocross championships, one supercross championship and an X Games Gold in Supermoto.

Bobby had his best results this season at Mid-Ohio this past weekend. He was on the podium both days and almost won on Saturday in a heated battle with Josh Herrin. Following his 2nd place finish on Saturday and 3rd place finish on Sunday he is now 8th overall in the standings. In 2009 he finished 14th overall in the series. The DNA team is managed by Crozier Roberson Motorsports. Fong has earned numerous championships in his career including the 2004 AFM 250cc Supermoto USA Championship, the 2005 AMF top novice 600 Production and Superbike titles and the 2006 AFM 600 Superbike and Production titles.

Sukoshi has been involved in the motorcycle tire industry for over 30 years working for Pirelli, Metzeler and Avon over this time. Sukoshi first began her career at the race track organizing road race events, refereeing and also doing some amateur racing. She was approached to work for a major distributor in Canada who was also the importer for Pirelli tires and thus her love and passion for tires began. Sukoshi was asked to move down to the states in 1990 due to her knowledge of the brand when the agency for Metzeler began handling Pirelli as well.

Over the 4th of July weekend Trey won his first Outdoor National at Red Bud. He seems to have figured something out as he backed that win up with another at Millville this past weekend, giving him back to back wins. This moves him to 3rd place in the points overall. Earlier this year, Canard finished third overall in the 2010 Monster Energy Supercross Lites West Series. Trey won the 2008 Monster Energy East Coast Lites Championship in his first season racing supercross.

Killy Rusk, Pro Motocross 250 class – Privateer
This is Killy’s rookie year in the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships. Despite being a low-profile amateur rider he is doing quite well as a pro. He is consistently making the program and scoring points, a task that’s not easy to do. Rusk is from Colorado and has basically lived in a motorhome with his father for the last few seasons. He sits 22nd in the series having scored points in eight out of ten moto’s he lined up for. Killy will be in the Pit Pass Radio studios after this past weekend’s race in Millville, MN.

Kevin Windham surprised a few people this weekend but not his true fans when he came off the couch and away from his summer vacation to fill in for Davi Millsaps. Not one to wait around for an opportunity to lead, he pulled a holeshot in one moto and finished the weekend in 4th overall after his M1 finish of 5th and his M2 finish of 4th. Not a bad way to step in and help out the Honda effort.

Chris began his racing career early by competing in junior dragster and go-karting events and won a national championship and two club championships. He moved on to road racing in 2006 at age 14. In 2007, he won a combined total of eight novice championships. He was presented with the AMA Sports Road Race Horizon Award, which recognizes the amateur competitor with the best prospects for a successful professional career. He also earned National #1 plates in Expert Unlimited Grand Prix and Expert Unlimited Superbike at the WERA Grand National Championships. He is currently in ninth overall in the Superbike series.

Brett is having a strong season so far in the Lucas Oil Outdoor Championships. He finished in 5th overall at Red Bud in Buchanan, Michigan with moto results of M1 – 5th, M2 – 4th. At the halfway point he is in 3rd place overall in the series. The Australian native started racing in the U.S. in 2003 and has raced for teams like Yamaha of Troy and Pro Circuit Kawasaki. He finished 3rd in the MX Lites class in 2009 and in 2008 he finished 4th in SX Lites and 3rd in Mx Lites.

Recently he took a shot at racing on four wheels in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship, in open-wheel competition at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Pegram showed he was a quick learner and that he can be fast on two or four wheels as he took second place both days in his class. He was racing in the Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery | Foremost Insurance car. In less than two weeks, Pegram will be back on his Ducati in front of a hometown crowd at the Honda Super Cycle weekend at Mid-Ohio in Lexington, Ohip.

Strang was another rider trying his hand at a sport other than his specialty of GNCC racing this past weekend, when he raced the 450 class at Red Bud. Strang scored a solid 23rd overall earning himself a point in the overall standings with his M1- 20th and M1- 28th finishes. Strang is leading the XC1 class in the Can-Am GNCC Series as it heads into its summer break. While he is focused on winning the GNCC Championship he still intends to race more outdoor motocross as his schedule permits this season. Strang’s next GNCC race is the Can Am Unadilla race on September 12th.

He has adjusted to the new bike quickly and finished 5th at Road America on Sunday and 6th on Saturday. He also took some time to race in the Vance & Hines Harley XR1200 class and got himself on the podium.

Melissa is on the mend from recent surgery to repair her leg from an injury she sustained last year at VIRginia International Raceway. The surgery repaired her torn patella tendon and removed scar tissue from her knee that was causing significant pain and limiting her range of motion. The surgery also involved removing a rod and screws from her tibia. Her best finish this season is 15th and she currently stands in 30th in the Daytona Sportbike class.

Short’s had a good run in this year’s Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship. His first two finishes of the season were not as good as expected but the last three have been very strong. He’s had some moto wins and podiums. While he has shown he has had the speed to lead a race he’s been working to put it all together this year. Nobody, including his competitors, will rule him out as a threat to win as he has proven himself time and time again in the pro ranks. In 2009 he finished 3rd in the Supercross series and 2nd in the Outdoor series.

Kanney races the premier class in the GNCC series. If it weren’t for some mistakes and mechanical problems he could have won the past few rounds. His luck turned around at the Snowshoe, West Virginia event this weekend where he put together one of the best rides of his career and took the overall win along with the $10,000 pro purse. This puts Nate 6th in points and he will have a couple months to reflect on his win as the series takes a hiatus for the summer break.

Tommy is coming off a tough weekend at Budd’s Creek in the 450 class. He managed to finish 17th overall with his 38th and 11th place finishes. He currently sits in 8th place in the Lucas Oil 450 Championship points standing. Tommy is a strong rider and has proven himself a top competitor riding for teams like Factory Connection and Team Honda, as well as Extreme Kawasaki. His first 450 outdoor win was in 2009 at Steel City. He finished the 2010 Monster Energy Supercross season in 8th overall.

Wil Hahn, 250 Pro Motocross Racer – Troy Lee Designs Honda
Wil had a better weekend than his brother on his Troy Lee Designs Honda finishing 5th overall with his moto finishes of 5th and 4th. He is also in 8th overall, but in the Lucas Oil 250 Championship points standing. He wrapped up the Monster Energy West Coast Lites Supercross Series in 2nd place. Hahn’s first full year (2008) in Supercross Lites resulted in five top ten’s; eventually finishing ninth overall in the west coast standings. 2009 saw a move to the Eastern side of Supercross aboard the Muscle Milk KTM Team, and an improvement to sixth in the final standings.

Over the years Race Tech has been dubbed “The Science of Suspension” because of their industry leading service and products such as the Gold Valve. Sampie is from a town in the Northwest province in South Africa called Stilfontein. Like many he grew up racing motocross chasing his dream to become a factory level pro. He raced for Sappy KTM South Africa racing in the premier class and was a top 5 national rider. He had a contract to go race in Europe for a Honda Satellite team but broke his back the day before he was set to go. Sampie was paralyzed from the chest down. He heard about the X Games Adaptive Class here in the U.S. and knew he had to come and compete. Geoff May, AMA Pro Superbike Racer – Erik Buell Racing
Geoff May is back in the superbike class racing on the Buell 1125RR and scoring in the top ten twice in the last four races. May started the season fielding a privateer effort for himself in the Daytona Sportbike class and finished seventh in the Daytona 200. In 2009, May rode for the Jordan team with the National Guard as his title sponsor. He finished the 2009 season in eighth overall with three podium finishes.

Tim Burleson, Chaplain – Motor Racing Outreach
Burleson has been in the ministry since 1975, the last ten in motorsports chaplaincy. He began racing ministry as chaplain for a dirt track in South Carolina. In 2002, Motor Racing Outreach asked him to be chaplain for the WERA National Series. In 2007 he became chaplain for AMA Pro Racing and MRO’s coordinator of ministry to motorcycle series. He continues to work with WERA Nationals and AMA Pro. This season he is also working with AMA Grand National Championship, aka, as AMA Flat Track. Other series he has worked with include ASRA/CCS, American GT sports car series and the the Stock Car Roadracing Series.

Kyle Regal, Pro Motocross – Merge Racing
Kyle is in his second year as a professional motocross racer. He chose to go to the premier class (450cc) this year and it has paid off for him. At Texas, he turned everyone’s heads as he put down a moto every young rider dreams of. His finish was 6-2 for 3rd overall. As a young up and comer on a privateer bike he put himself on every team manager’s radar. Last weekend he chose to sit out due to not feeling well after practice. This week he returns to race at Budd’s Creek.

PJ Jacobsen, Daytona Sportbike and GNC Track Racer – Celtic Racing Orient Express Suzuki
Jacobsen started racing when he was three years old, since then its been an amazing journey. He has won over 30 national titles in the United States Dirttrack and Roadrace Series. He is the youngest American to compete in a Motogp race at Indy. In 2009 he did a full year in the Spanish Championship with team Aspar, ending the year with a podium finish. As of right now he is racing in the AMA Daytona Sportbike Series with Celtic Racing/Orient Express Suzuki. His best finish this season was at Elkhart Lake with two sixth place finishes. He also did his first GNC race on a Moroneys Harley Davidson 750, running in second till the last lap, finishing up in sixth.
